Stage Presenter, Farm Tour Driver, and Farm Hand

We’re looking for a confident, enthusiastic person to deliver the World Famous Sheep Show to the highest standard while maintaining excellent care and presentation of the stage, animals, and nursery. This role also includes general upkeep, farm duties, and helping create a memorable visitor experience.
Your duties will include:
Operational - Stage Presenter: • Prepare the stage and facilities before each performance. • Maintain a clean, tidy and professional personal presentation at all times. • Feed and provide daily care for stage animals in line with animal welfare standards. • Monitor the health, behaviour and condition of stage animals. • Care for and maintain overnight ram pens to ensure animal comfort and safety. • Ensure stage and dome facilities meet operational standards. • Assist with upkeep and basic maintenance of farm show sound and translation systems. • Support the Customer Experience Manager and Marketing team with reviewing and maintaining multi language recorded script modules.
Operational - Farm: • Deliver an engaging customer experience during farm tours including clear, informative and enjoyable English language commentary. • Responsible for health and safety during farm tours including safety briefings. • Maintain farm stock health and welfare to a high standard. • Complete daily checks on tractors, trailers and farm equipment. • Monitor and replenish farm tour supplies. • Coordinate farm tour schedules, staff communication, and translator needs. • Undertake day to day farming duties as directed by the Farm Manager.
Cleaning and Maintenance: • Maintaining the rubbish and outdoor areas are up to standards. • Ensuring trailer seating's are clean and presentable for customer use. • General upkeep of toilet facilities to maintain hygiene standards. • Perform tasks like water blasting, leaf blowing, and garden upkeep
Key Stock Management Care: • Ensure humane, respectful care of livestock at all times.

Job Requirements
• Comfortable working with all farm animals. • Experience operating tractors or similar farm machinery. • Able to obtain & retain a DL9 drivers’ medical certificate. • Confident in presenting, performing and engaging live audiences. • Skilled in customer interactions, strong communication skills, adaptable to different audiences. • High levels of personal drive, motivation and initiative. • Proactive and capable of working independently. • Open to change, continuous improvements and new ideas. • Willing to learn and develop new skills with a positive can-do attitude. • Demonstrates professionalism, reliability and integrity at all times. • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask. • Have an understanding or eagerness to learn Ngai Tahu Whanui values, tikanga and te reo Maori. • Open to learning and embracing a bi-cultural environment and adapting practices. • Familiarity with the Treaty of Waitangi and its application.
