About this job
Safely install, terminate, and test high/low-voltage cabling, switchboards, lighting, and power outlets in domestic or commercial buildings. Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot faults, diagnose electrical malfunctions, and repair or replace wiring, appliances, and fixtures. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work meets the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) regulations and WorkSafe New Zealand protocols. Manage hazards and wear appropriate PPE. Planning & Quoting: Read and interpret architectural plans and electrical diagrams to lay out systems and estimate project costs. Client & Team Communication: Provide professional advice to clients and supervise junior electricians/apprentices. Our employer will consider applicants from the Hutt Valley as transport can be provided. Immediate start available.
Job Requirements
Valid NZ Electrical Registration and current Practicing License issued by the EWRB. Experience: Proven experience in electrical installations and maintenance (residential, commercial, or industrial sectors). Knowledge: Sound understanding of New Zealand wiring rules, safety codes, and testing/certification procedures. Skills: Strong physical fitness for demanding environments, excellent problem-solving ability, and methodical diagnostic skills. License: A clean, full New Zealand Driver's License. Relocation bonus available to out of Wairarapa region successful applicants.
