About this job

As a Winery Cellar Hand you will be required to undertake daily Winery Operations. Carry out wine transfers, additions, filtration, stabilization, gas adjustment, receival and dispatch. Operate cellar equipment such as pumps, crushers, presses, and temperature control systems. Ensure work is carried out to our standards. Execute Daily and Weekly Production Schedules with H & S/Food Safety Focus. Be available to work both Day and Afternoon shifts as required. Ensure Winery Operations are carried out as per agreed protocols and quality standards. Ensure Winery Cellar appearance, cleanliness, maintenance and hygiene meet Food Safety Standards. Foster a positive work environment. Support in the delivery of wine training programs. Support a culture in which all abide by company policies. Work positively with wider winery teams to support a culture of collaboration.

During Harvest: Lead and Supervise Harvest Area teams as required by Operations Supervisor. Be available to work either Day or Night shift. Contribute to Harvest team induction and training activities. Optimize processes to enhance efficiency and productivity during peak times.

Job Requirements

This employer is looking for people who fit with their company values and are looking for an individual with a can-do positive attitude. You do not need prior experience to be considered for this role. You must be able to work shift work and extended hours of 12 hours per day, 6 days a week for vintage period of 4-6 weeks each year. You will need to be fit and healthy, the role is physical, outside (around the winery) and involves lifting hoses, cleaning, and walking up stairs. Is able to communicate clearly in English and follow written and verbal instructions. You'll need to have excellent time management. A Driver Licence is not a requirement of the role, however you must be able to ensure you can get to and from the Winery which is based at Cloudy Bay business park. Criminal convictions will be considered on a case by case basis. Any convictions must be disclosed. Pre-employment medical examination and drug and alcohol testing are required. Up to date CV required.

Days of work
Must be available to work Day Shift 7am - 3.30pm and Afternoon Shift 3pm - 11.30pm on a rotational basis. (40 hours per week)
