Roofing General Hand

A leading Commercial and residential roofing services, operating in Northland, is seeking to employ 2 roofing general hands. They will be assisting roofers to install commercial and residential roofs.

Responsibilities include:

• Carry roofing materials, tools, and equipment safely around job sites. • Remove old roofing materials and prepare surfaces for new installation. • Use hand tools and power tools to complete roofing work. • Measure and cut roofing materials to fit specifications. • Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including fall protection requirements. • Work at heights and in varying weather conditions. • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from vehicles and work areas. • Operate ladders, scaffolding, and lifting equipment safely. • Perform general labouring duties related to roofing projects. • Maintain and care for roofing tools and equipment. • Follow instructions from supervisors and senior roofers.

These are permanent positions. Guaranteed 40 hours per week.

• High level of physical stamina to handle heavy lifting, climb ladders, and kneel, bend, or crouch for extended periods. • No fear of heights and a willingness to work safely on varying roof pitches and elevations. • A strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work in changing outdoor weather conditions. • Basic familiarity with standard construction hand and power tools is a plus. • Clean Full drivers license and own reliable transport. • Site safe certificate is preferred but not essential. • Must be drug free since they need to go on varying heights.
