As a Pouawhina (Support Worker/Personal Assistant) at Mana Atea, you will play a vital role in supporting the independence and wellbeing of injured and disabled individuals in the Tauranga area. This permanent part-time position involves providing personalised support and assistance to help whanau maintain their desired quality of life.
What you'll be doing: • Assisting whanau with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. • Providing companionship and emotional support to whanau, engaging them in social and recreational activities. • Advocating for whanau needs and ensuring their preferences are respected. • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to whanau care. • Collaborating with the broader care team to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to whanau support.

This position will start on a casual roster, with progression to permanent part-time employment.
Job Requirements
• An updated CV aligned to the kaupapa of the role. • A minimum of Level 2 Health and Wellbeing Certificate. • At least 1 years experience as a Healthcare Assistant. • NZ Full Driver’s License. • Pass a Ministry of Justice check and drug test. • Able to work flexible shifts. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • A compassionate, empathetic, and patient approach when working with vulnerable individuals. • A commitment to upholding the dignity, privacy, and rights of the individuals you support. • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
