A Cambridge based automotive technology and fleet installation business is seeking an Automotive Electrical Technician to join their growing team. This role involves the installation, manufacture and support of custom wiring and electrical systems for commercial vehicle fleets. The business delivers end to end OEM style installation services and works with leading transport operators and technology providers.
This is a varied, hands-on role covering vehicle installations, workshop based wiring harness manufacturing and mobile service work across the Waikato and surrounding regions (travel will be involved as you progress). The role suits someone with strong technical ability, attention to detail and a passion for automotive technology.
List of Tasks include: - Install and integrate automotive electrical systems into commercial vehicles. - Manufacture and assemble custom wiring harnesses in a workshop environment. - Install vehicle technologies such as lighting, telematics, cameras, inverters and in-cab systems. - Carry out mobile installation work at customer sites as required. - Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation. - Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults. - Ensure installations meet quality, safety and professional finish standards. - Communicate technical information clearly to customers and non-technical stakeholders. - Maintain accurate job documentation and records. - Work safely and follow all health and safety procedures.
Full training and ongoing upskilling will be provided. This role offers variety, exposure to modern vehicle technologies and the opportunity to work as part of a supportive and experienced technical team.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements - Previous automotive electrical or trade experience is preferred but not essential - Basic tool knowledge required - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship - Good customer service and communication skills - Ability to work independently and manage own workload - Strong problem solving skills - Positive attitude and willingness to learn - Good teamwork skills - Passion for hands-on automotive work - Must hold a full Class 1 drivers licence (for company vehicle use) - Ability to travel as required for the role
