Farm Assistant
About this job
This farm is in and around the township of Whitikahu. The farm comprises 145 hectares and you will be milking a herd of 420 cows in a herringbone shed 30 aside. Your duties will be as follows:
• You will be milking twice a day • You must have an agricultural qualification in dairy or previous experience • Operate basic machinery, ride both quad and 2-wheel motorbikes • You are required to milk the cows efficiently and safely as directed • Set up the dairy plant prior to milking, shed hygiene, identify any animal health issues, feed cows, follow on farm compliance around animal welfare, health, safety and wellbeing, environment etc • Guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours per week
Job Requirements
• Must be able to pass a drug test • Must be able to pass a Police check. No criminal convictions • Must have a full driver’s licence and own transport • No pets, no smoking and vaping • Must live on the farm. Shared accommodation available • Must have a minimum of 6 months experience
- Days of work
- Roster 9 days on 2 days off - 8 days on 2 days off - between the hours of 4.30am and 6pm (40 hours per week)
