Agricultural Production Operator/ Farm Machinery Operator

Matamata based employer are seeking a reliable and motivated Farm Machinery Operator to join our field operations team. This role supports day to day crop production through the safe operation of agricultural machinery and active participation in planting, cultivation, irrigation, and harvesting activities. You will work closely with farm managers and field teams to ensure productivity, quality, and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities • Operate tractors, harvesters, and other agricultural machinery safely and efficiently • Assist with crop operations including planting, irrigation, cultivation, and harvesting • Conduct daily pre start checks, basic servicing, and minor maintenance of machinery • Identify and report machinery issues, faults, or maintenance needs promptly • Maintain accurate records of field work completed, machinery usage, and hours worked • Follow all farm procedures, health and safety requirements, and company policies • Work collaboratively with managers and team members to meet seasonal production demands

• Experience operating agricultural machinery or a strong willingness to learn • Mechanical aptitude with a practical understanding of farm equipment • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a safety first mindset • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons as required • Class 1 Driver Licence (essential) Class 2 or Class 4 licence (an advantage)
