Waiter - Waiheke Island
About this job
A restaurant on Waiheke Island requires a full time Waiter that can offer excellent service and food knowledge, to look after our customers. Must have great spoken English and a can do friendly attitude.
Key Tasks
• Deliver knowledgeable, efficient and courteous service: understand the menu, wine list, allergens and specials; answer questions; take and serve orders; process payments; resolve issues and complaints to Ki Maha standards • Maintain high standards of presentation and cleanliness: follow service techniques and health & safety policies; keep the restaurant, restrooms, equipment and all service items clean, tidy and well cared for; minimise waste and breakage • Support smooth operations and teamwork: communicate with the Restaurant Manager, kitchen and bar; keep customers informed of delays or run outs; maintain positive relationships between front and back of house; attend briefings and training Contribute to a strong team culture: follow establishment policies, carry out management requests, mentor and encourage junior staff
Job Requirements
NZQF Level 2 or 3 hospitality qualification MIN one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. Must be able to pass a Ministry of Justice check and a drug test
