About the role As a Department Manager, you’ll lead from the front—driving team performance, customer experience, and operational standards in a fast-paced retail environment. You’ll coach and develop your team to deliver great service while ensuring your department is safe, well-stocked, and visually appealing. This is a hands-on role where you’ll balance people leadership, merchandising, and commercial outcomes to deliver results. This role will involve some public holiday and weekend work.
What’s involved • Leading and coaching a team to deliver exceptional customer service • Setting clear expectations and role modelling strong service behaviours • Supporting team training, onboarding, and ongoing development • Managing merchandising standards and executing store plans • Ensuring the department is safe, full, clean, and well presented • Driving sales performance and achieving budget targets • Managing rosters to ensure the right team at the right time • Handling customer queries and resolving issues effectively

Job Requirements
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership role • Proven ability to motivate and develop a team • Strong communication and problem-solving skills • Ability to work flexible retail hours, including weekends and public holidays • Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence • Physically capable of being on your feet across a full shift • Own car and hold a clean full driver license. • Ability to pass pre-employment checks, including MOJ and drug screening
