School Caretaker
About this job
We’re seeking a reliable School Caretaker in Papakura to help maintain a safe, clean, and well-presented environment. This role involves caring for school buildings, grounds, and gardens, while supporting health and safety standards and coordinating with contractors.
Key duties include: • Opening and locking the school each day • Maintaining grounds (lawns, gardens, pruning, weed control) • Carrying out general upkeep and minor repairs • Overseeing rubbish removal, cleaning, and supplies • Assisting contractors and ensuring safe work practices • Maintaining equipment and attending occasional after-hours callouts
Job Requirements
• First Aid Health and Safety Level 2 or equivalent • Must pass MOJ/ Drug test • Must have reliable transport to get to work • Able to work independently and take instructions • Is physically fit and practical • Has good communication and time management skills • Understands Health & Safety requirements • Can work independently and show initiative • Enjoys being part of a school community • Must provide a current CV detailing your relevant work experience
