Whanau Resilience Coordinator/Worker position available in Penrose.
As the Whanau Resilience Coordinator you will be responsible for leading and managing programs that enhance the resilience and wellbeing of whanau particularly those affected by family violence. Your role will focus on ensuring that our services align with the objectives of the Whanau Resilience initiative fostering strong supportive and thriving families.
You will oversee program implementation engage with key stakeholders and support the development of long term solutions that empower whanau to build safe connected and violence free futures. Our Whanau Resilience program is designed to: - Strengthen family relationships and build long term stability. - Reduce the risk of family harm through proactive prevention. - Foster community connections and support networks. - Deliver tailored interventions that empower whanau to thrive. - Lead the delivery of Whanau Resilience programs in alignment with MSD guidelines and community needs. - Develop manage and monitor program activities to ensure effective implementation. - Facilitate culturally responsive initiatives that empower whanau to build resilience. - Build and maintain strong relationships with funders service providers and community leaders. - Collaborate with Whanau Ora providers local churches and community groups to enhance service reach and impact. - Advocate for whanau needs, ensuring their voices are central to service development. - Oversee the coordination of services and referrals to ensure holistic support for whanau. - Work alongside social workers health professionals and other key stakeholders to deliver integrated care. - Ensure whanau receive tailored, strength-based interventions that promote healing and stability. - Support staff and volunteers in delivering effective whanau centered support. - Provide training and development opportunities for team members. - Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.
Job Requirements
- A background in social work psychology or community development. Bachelors level or higher and must be registered - Experience working in family violence prevention social services or community development. - Strong understanding of whanau centered approaches and resilience building strategies. - Ability to engage effectively with whanau community groups and service providers. - Excellent organizational and program management skills. - Strong communication skills both written and verbal. - Ability to lead mentor and support a diverse team. - Knowledge of Pasifika and Maori cultural frameworks and their application in social services. - Passion for community development and empowering whanau to thrive. - Experience in contract management and service evaluation. - Knowledge of MSD and Whanau Ora funding structures. - Commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Functional Technical Skills. - Be able to pass pre-employment drug test and have clean MOJ record.

- Monday to Friday possible work outside of normal hours due to nature of job role, needs to be flexible (37.5 hours per week)
