Seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager for an Italian Restaurant and Bakery Cafe in St Heliers, Auckland.

Job Description • Oversee and manage daily operations of the restaurant, bakery, and cafe to ensure smooth, consistent, and professional service • Lead breakfast, lunch, dinner, and function services with strong floor presence and clear team direction • Manage service flow and maintain high service standards in a fast-paced, structured environment • Plan and prepare staff rosters, manage staffing levels, and monitor wage costs • Support and coordinate functions, events, and catering-style services • Work closely with the Head Chef and bakery team on menu planning, product presentation, and daily specials • Oversee stock control, purchasing, and supplier relationships • Maintain records for sales, stock levels, wages, financial transactions, and overall performance (KPIs) • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards across all customer and service areas • Develop and maintain clear operational procedures (opening/closing, reservations, coffee service flow, table service, team communication) • Ensure all guests receive a warm, professional, and consistent experience even during busy periods

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in a hospitality management role (restaurant, cafe, bistro, or premium casual dining) • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and support a team • Experience recruiting, training, supervising, and mentoring front-of-house staff • Ability to manage high-pressure service periods calmly and effectively • Strong understanding of service flow, floor management, and guest experience • Excellent communication skills with both customers and team members • Solid operational and organisational skills with attention to detail • Experience with rostering, wage cost control, and staffing optimisation • Knowledge of stock management, purchasing, and supplier coordination • Ability to analyse performance metrics and contribute to business decisions • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues early and take practical action • Warm, professional, and customer-focused approach with confidence in taking ownership of daily operations

Pay Details
$70,000 – $80,000 depending on experience.
