Communicating with staff and management Allocate pasture within feed budget Plan/ co-ordinate feeding out and setting up breaks to correct size Implementing weed control program Perform setting up milking equipment Carrying out milking and teat spraying Hosing down Clean and maintain farm dairy, plant and equipment Maintaining milk quality Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards in and around dairy Assisting with dairy company documentation Assist with management of stock movement Health identification and treatment- lameness, mastitis, down cows, sickness Assist with calf rearing, identification, treatment and feed Assist with all seasonal activities i.e. mating, dry off, wintering and calving Keep record of mastitis treatments and mark according to farm protocol. Complying with health and safety legislation, policies, and manual including wearing PPE Complete general farm maintenance - fences, water troughs and waterlines and other general farm facility

We're looking for: Minimum 2 years NZ dairy farm experience Strong work ethic and attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork skills Passion for dairy farming and animal care A relevant tertiary qualification AG ITO level 4 or higher, Numeracy and literacy skills Experience with shed set up, milking and plant/shed wash down Experience with pasture management including monitoring residuals and pre grazing covers Experience driving tractor, loading up and feeding out Ability to identify calved cows and match calves, assist calving difficulties, administer IV bags and tag calves Experience with calf rearing and bomb feeding calves Experience with cleaning and maintaining shed hygiene including monthly checks. Experience with farm maintenance including fencing and replacement of leaking trough valves We are a smoke free farm
