Heavy Truck Driver (Class 5) – Kauri Logistics Ltd.

About the Role: Kauri Logistics Ltd is seeking an experienced Class 5 Heavy Truck Driver to join our team. We specialise in transporting concrete panels, stairs, structural steel, and other industrial goods to construction sites across Auckland and the Waikato region.
During peak periods (such as Christmas and Easter), you may also assist with freight and food deliveries, as well as occasional container cartage during rail closures.
Key Responsibilities: - Transport concrete panels, stairs, structural steel, and general freight safely and efficiently. - Pick up and deliver goods from key locations including Pokeno, Papakura, Matamata, and Te Rapa. - Ensure all transport documentation, permits (including oversize loads), and delivery details are accurate. - Maintain a travel log (work hours, routes, and delivery details). - Conduct routine vehicle checks and ensure the truck is kept clean and presentable. - Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper weight distribution. - Adhere to NZTA regulations, assigned routes, and delivery schedules. - Provide professional customer service and handle any delivery-related queries.
Duties Include: - Timely and safe completion of all transport tasks. - Reviewing orders before and after delivery for accuracy. - Ensuring compliance with all transport laws and safety requirements. - Preparing delivery-related reports and documentation. - Assisting with loading and unloading when required. - Carrying and handling dangerous goods when applicable.

Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a truck and trailer operator. - Valid Class 5 Driver Licence. - Current D &G F Endorsements. - Strong understanding of NZTA regulations and road safety. - Ability to manage time effectively and work independently. - Good communication and customer service skills.
