We are seeking a reliable and motivated Motel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Tararua-based motel 30 minutes from Palmerston North. This is a hands-on, on-site role suited to someone who takes pride in delivering excellent guest experiences while maintaining high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day motel operations, including guest check-in/check-out Deliver outstanding customer service with a friendly and professional approach Handle bookings, inquiries, and basic administrative tasks Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and overall upkeep of the property Address guest concerns promptly and effectively Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards Be available on-site and responsive to issues as they arise
Skills and Experience
Strong customer service skills and a welcoming, professional manner Basic computer competency (booking systems, email, general admin) Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Job Requirements
Must pass a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) background check Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test High level of reliability, honesty, and personal integrity Willingness and ability to be available 24/7 as required for on-site management
