Concierge and Security Host

This role is for a Concierge and Security Host for a new bar and dining venue in the CBD.

You will be the first face our guests see and the last person they speak to before leaving. You run the door, manage capacity and lift flow, check IDs, control access, and make every guest feel they have arrived somewhere they want to come back to.

What you'll do: • Welcome guests at the lift and direct them to the host stand • ID checks and dress-standard enforcement • Manage queue, capacity, and lift flow at peak • Refuse entry to intoxicated or unsuitable guests, calmly and without drama • Liaise with floor and bar team on reservations, VIPs, and walk-ins • Monitor exits, emergency egress, and guest safety on the rooftop • Handle incidents and de-escalation; document and report cleanly • Keep the entrance, lift lobby, and door area in show condition every shift

Must have: • Current NZ Certificate of Approval (Crowd Controller) — non-negotiable • 2+ years premium venue, hotel, or licensed door experience • Right to work in NZ (citizen, resident, or full work visa) • Available evenings, late nights, and weekends • Well-presented, articulate, calm under pressure Bonus: • LCQ / Manager's Certificate • First Aid • Mandarin or Cantonese • Auckland premium venue, fine dining, or 5-star hotel background
