Labourer/Hammerhand

We are seeking a Labourer/Hammerhand to join our residential construction team. This role is ideal for someone who is keen to do the physical work as well as use basic hand and power tools.
The successful candidate will have simple carpentry knowledge and a can-do attitude. You’ll work alongside experienced builders on a variety of residential projects, assisting the team with the physical jobs and ready to lift a hammer confidently.
Follow instructions from Carpenters, Foreman and Project Managers Be proactive in recognising any issues/potential issues, address and bring to the attention of the site Foreman and/or Project Manager Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials Assist to construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures Repair existing structures and fittings. Concrete grinding and applying epoxy grouts, injecting epoxy resins. And applying sealant Construct, erect, install, remove and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, wallboard and other materials Have a good working relationship with all suppliers and subcontractors, creating a respectful environment
Job Requirements
Basic carpentry skills Clean driving licence Physically fit Previous experience in a similar role Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Good communication and teamwork skills Reliable transport and punctuality Commitment to workplace health and safety Must pass MOJ and Drug test Applicants must provide an updated CV (the Te Heke Mai.co.nz CV Builder format is acceptable)
