About this job
We're looking for two .5 FTE Kaiako to deliver our Adult Education programmes in Westport. If you hold a tertiary qualification in Adult Education and Training or Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education, or you have a background in education and training, we want to meet you!
You will be working as an independent contractor to deliver established programmes in our community, for small targeted groups, individuals and workplaces. In this role, you will empower learners to strengthen their literacy and numeracy skills through engaging, practical, and learner-focused teaching methods. You will foster a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where learners feel supported to build confidence, participate actively, and achieve personal growth.
By tailoring your teaching to meet a variety of learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds, you will help learners develop strong foundation skills and the confidence to use them in everyday life, and in their work. You will inspire and support learners throughout their educational journey, using creative and effective approaches to ensure learning is meaningful, accessible, and enjoyable.
The ideal candidate will bring empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping learners succeed, along with a strong commitment to guiding individuals toward achieving their personal and vocational goals.
Job Requirements
Candidates must hold L5 National Certificate in Adult Education and Training or National Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education or equivalent or proven education background Candidates must pass MoJ check Programmes will be delivered in our own premises and in community venues and workplaces in the Buller communities;
