Chef or Cook

A well-established rest home in Belmont is seeking an experienced Chef or Cook to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7:00am - 2:30pm. In this role you will be required to prepare nutritious and well-presented meals for residents, meet individual dietary requirements, ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations, maintain stock control and food storage, and ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen. You will have proven experience working in a commercial kitchen, preferably within an aged care or healthcare environment, and be familiar with Kiwi-style cuisine. You must hold relevant food safety certification and demonstrate a high standard of personal and kitchen presentation. Strong customer service, time management, and organisational skills are essential. You will be reliable, respectful, and professional, with the ability to show empathy and compassion in all interactions with residents. Applicants must have a driver licence and their own transport to commute to the rest home for a 7:00am start and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and a Ministry of Justice check.
