Kiwifruit Pruners - 7 month fixed term contract

We are seeking seasonal fixed-term staff for kiwifruit pruning work in Motueka with an immediate start. Once pruning has finished, hired staff will be expected to complete other general orchard work, on our blocks across Motueka. Own reliable transport is preferred. Accommodation (shared) may be available. Previous orchard or apple pruning experience is preferred but not strictly required for the right candidates. Full training provided. The role requires reliable, physically fit, hardy and capable individuals who can commit to full-time hours for the entire 7-month term and sustain a full day’s work outdoors in the orchard. The role is physically demanding and staff will be working outdoors throughout winter and spring. It’s a team environment, so applicants must be able to get on well with others and bring a positive, can-do attitude. To be successful you must be physically fit with good hand and upper body strength, reliable and prepared to commit to the whole season. Ideal height is 1.7m - 1.8m. Experience preferred but not essential as full training is provided. Criminal convictions will be looked at on a case by case basis.
