An established and growing transport engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a skilled Mechanical Draftsperson / Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Hamilton-based team.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative truck and trailer design within a hands-on environment. You will work closely with engineers and workshop teams to deliver high-quality designs and support new product development.
Key Responsibilities: - Mechanical drafting and 3D modelling - Product design and development - Preparing accurate drawings for manufacturing - Supporting engineering teams with new builds and design improvements - Working on truck and trailer design projects - Assisting with practical engineering solutions for fabrication and assembly - Supporting continuous improvement of existing products and systems

Job Requirements
Skills and Experience Required
3–4 years’ experience in the transport engineering industry Proficiency in 3D mechanical CAD (SolidWorks preferred) Strong mechanical drafting and detailing skills Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant industry experience Knowledge of mechatronics and hydraulics Experience with truck and trailer design Practical understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and workshop teams
