Are you looking to make a real difference in your community? We are currently looking for empathetic and passionate Support Workers in Wellington and Newtown, across our different services including Community & Rehabilitation, Disability and Social Services.
As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below: • Meal preparation • Community outings and integration • Giving medication • Personal cares (showering, toileting etc) • Home management

Newtown Roster option 1: 2-week rotating roster to meet 24/7 support needs. Must be available to work across a 7 day roster, which includes: Weekday and Weekend shifts (Sat and Sun mix of: Morning/Afternoon/evening/overnight shifts (wake over and/or sleepover) Shift times: Mon-Fri 6am-9am Mon- Sun 2pm - 10pm Mon-Sun 2pm - 10pm Sleep over Sat, Sun, Public Holidays and School Holidays 6am - 2pm Shift allocation follows a two week rotating master roster, and there are no fixed days.
Wellington Roster option 2: mix of shifts 7 am to 3 pm; 3 pm to 11 pm and 11 pm to 7 am

Job Requirements
Essential: • NZQA Certificate in Health & Wellbeing Level 2 (or a relevant equivalent e.g. National Certificate in Foundation Skills). • An updated and professional CV with at least 2 contactable references. • Full NZ drivers licence and your own reliable transport (Essential) • Must live within 10-15km of Newtown • High level of resilience, with an ability to cope with change and to be flexible • Computer literacy and ability to use Apps • Ability to maintain confidentiality • Be able to work both independently and as part of a team • The ability to undertake the physical requirements of the position Desirable: • Experience working in the community is advantageous, but a desire to work with people, have the ability to set and maintain clear boundaries and to work with enthusiasm and empathy is equally important. • Practical numeracy and literacy skills
