Local employer is looking for Dairy Farm Assistant, training will be provided.
This person is responsible for working closely with the contract milker/Assistant Manager/Herd Manager to run the farm efficiently.
The primary focus is on the day-to-day operations of the farm, aiming to maximise productivity and efficiency. Collaborating with the contract milker and other farm management/staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Milking: Dairy Farm Assistant actively participates in milking operations (milking starts early as 4:30am in the morning). Equipment handling: Experience with riding 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers Calving and Mating: Good experience in these areas is valuable. Health Management: Identifying and treating mastitis and lameness in cows. Fencing: Maintenance and repair of fences. Effluent Irrigation: Managing waste disposal as per instructions.

Strong communication skills, especially in a multicultural team and with management Must be reliable, enthusiastic, honest, and proactive with a strong work ethic Physically fit with a can-do attitude Must provide two work references Drug- and smoke-free workplace Must be able to pass a drug test Able to pass MOJ Accommodation is shared in the farmhouse No pets and no smoking permitted on the property
