Long Line Deck Hand

Based in Mangonui We are seeking full-time crew for a 12-month period. Normal fisheries deckhand duties for a bottom longline vessel include the deployment and retrieval of the lines, handling, storing, and unloading of the catch, and cleaning duties. Experience of at least 12 months of experience as a fisheries deckhand is essential. If you have NZ Deckhand Qualifications or equivalent that would be a definite advantage. We are a happy team and crew safety and well-being of all our crew are our key priorities. Part of our assessment process will involve limited police checks for all applicants. There is also a pre-employment and ongoing drug testing program for all of these positions. Applicants will need to agree with their previous employer's being contacted in the vetting process. Remuneration is based on experience and qualifications with a rate of $29.50 per hour. We are happy to discuss "catch share" contract options.
