Class 5 Truck Driver

A trucking company based in Mount Wellington is looking for experienced Class 5 drivers to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a Class 5 truck ( mainly Truck & Trailer and B -Trains) to transport goods, materials, or equipment to various destinations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and good customer service.

Duties Involve:- -Plan the delivery goods correctly so that they are delivered on time. -Drive trucks on different routes to deliver goods. -Supervise load and unload of products from the trucks. -Transport all fragile and heavy items carefully. -Maintain and update the record of all deliveries. -Inspect trucks on a daily basis for cleanliness and good working conditions. -Ensure to follow the traffic and driving rules. -Collect delivery confirmation from the customers. -Monitor and refuel oil in the truck as and when needed. -Report if there are any defects in the truck or if it requires maintenance. -Be health & safety conscious

Employer mainly deals with General Freight transportation. The role mentions working remotely -Working remotely means the truck goes all over the country, we don't operate from one set base. Expected days and times mentioned is Sunday to Friday, they don't have rosters , they assign truck to the driver, and rest everything is planned accordingly, as we normally aim for driver to come back home every weekend so that's why it says Sunday- Friday. Mentioned hours is 70 hours/ week for 1 driver. Overnight driving involved- and motel accommodation can be provided whenever required.

Must have 2 years of proven experience operating a Class 5 truck. Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must have a Valid Dangerous Goods License. Must have Valid Forklift Licence. Must pass MOJ and Drug test. Strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
