Our employer is proud to have been selected as the preferred contractor for the Dunedin City Council 3 Waters Maintenance Contract. As they prepare for the new contract commencing July 2026, they are expanding their team and have a range of vacancies available now, with more to come. The new 10 year contract provides long term stability, meaningful career pathways and the chance to be part of a team delivering essential services to the Dunedin community.

Right now they are on the hunt for Site Traffic Management Supervisors (STMS) to lead safe work zones and support crews in the field to keep them and the public safe.

Duties include: - Set up and maintain traffic management sites that are in accordance with the COPTTM and when effective NZGTTM, contract and company HSE and quality and environment processes. - Ensure residents and businesses near sites have been informed of traffic management systems and are not adversely affected by them. - Read and understand TMPs and adapt sites as required. - Deliver services to specification and on time. - Direct staff on site as required. - Operate and maintain plant and equipment. - Liaise with the public in a professional and courteous manner. - Maintain vehicles as required. - Conduct and participate in tool box meeting prior to work commencing - Maintain excellent relationships with clients/public - Report all hazards / incidents / near misses - Champion and lead all health and safety systems and procedures. - Follow all health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring you keep yourself and others safe at work. - Deliver services to specification and on time to achieve high levels of satisfaction. - Assist staff when required with technical or practical advice in areas of expertise that the job holder has.

What you will need: - Relevant experience and/or relevant qualifications for the role you are interested in - You will be health & safety focused - Able and willing to participate in the on call and standby roster - Physically fit and work well within a team as well as independently - A full class 1 license and an ability to drive a manual is also essential

All preferred candidates will be required to complete pre-employment checks to the employers satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to: - Ministry of Justice criminal background report - Medical assessment - Drug and alcohol testing

Job Requirements

- Full class 1 license and reliable transport to work - First aid certificate or be willing to obtain one - STMS level 1 or higher - Pass pre-employment checks such as drug & alcohol, medical and criminal background - Health and safety focused - Fit and healthy with no current injuries or significant historical injuries - Reliable with a strong work ethic and good communication skills - Up to date presentable CV with two contactable references

Days of work
Generally Mon-Fri, however this is rostered on call based work so weekends may be required. (40 hours per week)
