Excavator/Earthmoving Machine Operators - Rolleston

a local employer is looking for an Excavator / Heavy Equipment Operator. This role involves operating a range of earthmoving equipment to support construction projects, working as part of a collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality outcomes and ensuring projects are completed safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities • Operate excavators, backhoes, loaders, and other earthmoving machinery safely and efficiently in line with site requirements and operating procedures • Carry out pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and basic servicing of equipment, identifying and reporting any faults or issues promptly • Excavate, move, load, and grade earth, gravel, and other materials according to site plans and specifications • Follow all health and safety policies, including site hazard identification, safe operating distances, and use of personal protective equipment at all times • Communicate clearly with site supervisors, truck drivers, and other machinery operators to coordinate tasks and maintain safe site operations • Assist with general construction duties when required to support project progress and team efficiency • Interpret site plans, levels, and instructions to ensure work is completed accurately and to required standards • Maintain accurate daily logs, equipment usage records, and maintenance reports as required

Minimum 2 years of experience operating excavators, backhoes, or other heavy construction equipment Full class 1 license and personal transport to Rolleston Ability to pass a MOJ check and a pre employment drug test
