People & Safety Manager

Our employer is looking for a People and Safety Manager This role sits within a hands-on, fast-paced production environment where safety, quality, and people are prioritised. Ideally you will have a Tertiary degree or diploma qualification, with a minimum of 5 years generalist HR experience in an operational environment.

Tertiary Degree or Diploma qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Health & Safety, or related field • Minimum 5+ years’ generalist HR experience in an operational environment • Strong experience managing Health & Safety systems, including risk registers and incident investigations • In-depth knowledge of NZ employment legislation (Employment Relations Act, Holidays Act, Health and Safety at Work Act) • Experience maintaining HR documentation, policies, and employment agreements • Proven ability to coach and support managers on employee relations matters • Payroll experience, including PAYE, KiwiSaver, and leave management • Understanding of ACC processes and return-to-work programmes • Experience using HRIS and payroll systems (e.g. MYOB, iPayroll, Smartly)
