Retail Assistant

An employer based in the North Shore is looking for a motivated Retail Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer service, works well in a fast paced environment, and takes pride in maintaining a well presented store.

Key Responsibilities: • Deliver friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service by assisting shoppers with inquiries and locating products • Operate the point of sale (POS) system to accurately process cash, card, and electronic payments • Restock shelves, displays, and promotional areas to maintain product availability and proper stock rotation • Ensure all products are correctly labelled with accurate pricing and current promotional signage • Receive, unpack, and organise deliveries, ensuring items are handled and stored appropriately • Maintain a clean, well organised, and visually appealing store environment at all times • Monitor stock levels and promptly notify management of low stock or discrepancies • Assist with stocktakes and other stock control tasks as required • Follow hygiene, health and safety, and operational procedures consistently • Support in store promotions and provide product recommendations when appropriate

To be successful in this role, you will need: • A minimum of one year of relevant work experience • Availability to work weekends and evening shifts • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to stay calm and focused during busy periods • Physical fitness, including the ability to stand for long periods, handle stock, and perform manual tasks • A hardworking and dedicated approach to your work • Self motivation, a positive attitude, and a genuine enthusiasm for customer service
