Senior Marine Technician

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Marine Technician to join our workshop team on the Kapiti Coast. This is a key role in our business and an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional who takes pride in their workmanship and wants to play a leading role in a growing and well regarded dealership. We are a Mercury Certified Service Agent and an authorised Yamaha Outboards dealer. Mercury or Yamaha certification or progress toward this training would be highly regarded. Strong candidates from other marine or mechanical backgrounds will also be considered. About the Role As Senior Marine Technician you will take ownership of complex work mentor junior staff and maintain high workshop standards. You will work independently while supporting the wider team.

Applicants must have proven experience as a senior or highly experienced Marine Technician. Strong knowledge of outboard and petrol inboard engines is essential. Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults is required. Mercury and or Yamaha certification is highly regarded, or demonstrated progress toward manufacturer training. Experience with engine installations, re powering projects, and commissioning is required. Confidence installing and configuring marine electronics is preferred. Experience carrying out trailer servicing and safety inspections is expected. Ability to work independently while maintaining high workmanship standards. Willingness and capability to mentor apprentices and junior technicians. Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a customer focused approach.
