A Swanson based food manufacturing company is seeking a reliable Production Assistant to join their team. This role plays a vital part in supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of tofu production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and consistency across the production process.

Key Duties • Assist in the production of all products by following established processes, including processing times, control points, and correct equipment use. • Package products accurately, ensuring correct labelling, stamping, and packaging materials are used. • Maintain high product quality in line with company standards and organic certification requirements. • Accurately complete and report all production records in accordance with the Food Safety Programme, and immediately report any anomalies. • Promptly report any production issues—such as equipment malfunctions—to the Production Supervisor, or the Production Manager if the supervisor is unavailable, to prevent batch loss. • Ensure safe and correct operation of all equipment and adhere to all safety procedures. • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment, including cleaning the production room, plant, floors, walls, and ceilings to required Food Safety and hygiene standards. • Support the upkeep of production areas and equipment to ensure efficiency, safety, and minimal wear. • Complete all required internal and external food safety training. • Contribute positively to team culture and a productive working environment. • Follow all company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety requirements.

Job Requirements

• Experience in a food manufacturing or similar production environment, with good motor skills for accurate packaging and handling of food and ingredients. • Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks. • Strong communication skills with a good command of written and spoken English. • Knowledge of food safety practices; a basic food hygiene certificate is desirable. • Reliable work ethic, positive attitude, excellent time management skills, and proven ability to multitask. • Able to work well as part of a team, be punctual, and commit to the required hours. • Flexible with working times, including early starts, late finishes, and occasional Saturdays. • Must have a full driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle. • Must be able to pass a drug test and Ministry of Justice background check.

Days of work
Monday to Friday. Saturdays when needed. Between the hours of 6am to 8pm (40 hours per week)
