Truck Driver - Class 4/5

An East Tamaki based company in the floral distribution industry, supplying both grade one and export quality fresh cut flowers and foliage to florists, wholesalers & large retailers throughout NZ, is seeking a Truck Driver to join their team on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Daily duties include:

• Undertaking medium to long-distance driving and planning efficient delivery routes to meet schedules • Safely transporting, loading and unloading trolleys, pallets and flower boxes • Securing, arranging and balancing cargo correctly within the vehicle • Manoeuvring trucks into loading and unloading positions • Ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately, signed for by recipients and documentation is returned to the office administrator • Collecting and confirming delivery instructions and maintaining accurate records of work/rest hours and kilometres driven • Maintaining a clean and orderly vehicle and carrying out daily inspections • Performing routine maintenance including refuelling, fluid top-ups, tyre pressure and light checks • Following all traffic laws and complying with transport regulations (including size, weight, routes, parking and rest breaks) • Adhering to company policies and procedures at all times • Reporting any issues, defects, damage, accidents or violations promptly to management • Be flexible during peak periods, including Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day & Christmas, when workload and hours may increase

Must have minimum 2 years' relevant driving experience

Candidates must be a NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident

Must hold a full Class 5 driver's licence with reliable transport to get to the depot

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test

Must have a flexible schedule to work during peak seasonal periods, weekends & early mornings
