Hamilton-Based company is after a solid, experienced Painter/Plasterer to join their crew . You’ll be hands on with residential reinstatement work, helping get homes back to where they need to be. The successful candidate will work across residential and light commercial properties, ensuring repairs are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard that meets both building codes and insurer expectations.

Key Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting and plastering, including sanding, filling, sealing, and priming. Carry out interior and exterior painting to a professional finish. Perform plastering and stopping work, including repairs to walls, ceilings, and cornices. Restore damaged areas following insurance events (e.g. water damage, cracking, smoke damage). Read and interpret job scopes, plans, and repair specifications. Accurately match existing textures and paint finishes. Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy work environment at all sites. Use tools, equipment, and materials in accordance with health and safety requirements Communicate clearly with supervisors, schedulers, and occasionally customers regarding progress and issues. Complete assigned jobs within agreed timeframes and quality standards. Report any additional damage or variations identified during repairs.

An ideal candidate should have the following: Proven experience as a Painter/Plasterer, ideally within insurance or renovation repair work. Strong knowledge of surface preparation, plastering systems, and paint application techniques. Ability to deliver consistent, high quality finishes under time sensitive conditions. Good problem solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs. Reliable, professional, and customer focused approach. Physically fit and capable of manual work.

Job Requirements

Trade qualification or equivalent experience in painting and plastering (preferred) Experience working on insurance claim repairs (highly desirable) Solid understanding of workplace health and safety requirements Valid Full or Restricted driver’s licence Legal right to work in New Zealand Own tools (preferred)

Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5:00pm(Dependent on workload) (40 hours per week)
