FT Kohanga Reo Kaiawhina (Early Childhood Support Worker)

Kohanga Reo Kaiawhina Full Time We are looking for a full time Kaiawhina to join our Kohanga whanau. In this role, you will support kaimahi in delivering high quality, culturally grounded early childhood education in Te Reo Maori, helping create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for tamariki aged 6 months to 6 years. This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys working with tamariki and contributing to a kaupapa Maori learning environment.

Job Description • Support kaimahi in planning and delivering learning experiences aligned with Te Whariki and Kohanga Reo philosophy • Supervise and engage with tamariki aged 6 months to 6 years to ensure safety, wellbeing, and development • Assist with daily routines including meal times, hygiene, and rest periods • Help facilitate activities such as waiata, storytelling, group play, and learning experiences • Participate in whanau engagement and support the kaupapa • Uphold Kohanga Reo tikanga, Te Reo Maori, and the learning environment • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised space for tamariki and kaimahi

Job Requirements • Experience in early childhood education preferred but not essential • Fluent in Te Reo Maori or willing to learn • Passion for working with tamariki and supporting Maori language and culture • Positive, reliable, and able to work well in a team • First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one • Must be able to pass a Police Vetting check
