Dairy Farm Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Farm Assistant to join our team for the upcoming busy season on our farm located near Westport. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in animal care, and can contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the farm. You will be working alongside a small team to support all aspects of farm operations through our busy period. This is a varied position that requires a proactive attitude and a willingness to get involved across all areas of the farm. Key Responsibilities include; Assisting with Stock Management; Milking, maintaining shed hygiene, supporting the health and well-being of the herd, recording and reporting farm data accurately. Fencing; monitoring and maintaining; Assisting with pasture management; weed and pest control, General farm maintenance and upkeep, operating farm machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with farm health and safety and regulatory requirements. Hours per week vary between 90 and 110 per fortnight.

• Previous farming or agricultural experience preferred • Confident handling livestock and working in a rural environment • Basic machinery operation skills (or willingness to learn) • Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and in a team • Good attention to detail, especially with record keeping • Understanding of (or willingness to learn) farm compliance requirements • Must be reliable and available for the full seasonal period
