Trainee General Hand - Metal Recycling

We are hiring an Entry Level Customer Facing GENERAL HAND at our Nelson yard Reporting to the Yard Leading Hand, you will safely operate machinery in order to sort, grade and purchase metals. Full training will be provided for the successful applicant. Your responsibilities will include • Load and unload trucks, skip bins, and trailers. • Operator equipment, including forklift and or excavator (where licenced). • Ensure customers receive a high level of service. • Grading and sorting metals. • Demonstrating personal responsibility for and commitment to health and safety policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
Attention to detail as this role involves working with metal and requires the ability to identify and separate different materials. A can do attitude, you will be open to undertaking training to diversify your skills. Good written and verbal communication skills, numeracy skills, and basic computer literacy. Previous experience in customer service and or similar roles. Forklift, WTR tickets highly regarded
