Class 5 Truck Driver

A well-established logistics transport company is seeking an experienced Class 5 Truck Driver to carry out local metro deliveries across Auckland and the wider region.

You will be required to pick up the truck from the Mangere depot at the start of each shift.

This position will start on a 90 day trial, with the opportunity to move into a permanent full-time role for the right candidate.

Duties include: • Completing deliveries safely and efficiently throughout Auckland • Operating automatic trucks in a variety of conditions • Navigating tight spaces, corners, and changing traffic conditions • Maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism

Core Operating Skills: • Vehicle Control: Confident management of heavy, long vehicles • Reversing & Manoeuvring: Ability to reverse trailers accurately, including in tight spaces • Coupling/Uncoupling: Safe connection and disconnection of trailers, including chains and electrical lines • Load Security: Strong understanding of load restraint, weight distribution, and load ratings • Pre-Start Checks: Conducting thorough inspections of tyres, lights, and trailer connections

Safety and Compliance: • Accurate logbook management (work time and rest breaks) • Good knowledge of the Road Code and heavy vehicle regulations • Strong hazard awareness and risk management • Commitment to safe driving practices at all times

Must have a minimum of 4 years experience & hold a clean full Class 5 driver's licence

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and Ministry of Justice check

Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical check

Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle maintenance

Strong communication skills and a professional approach onsite

Reliable & responsible, with the ability to manage long hours and early starts
