An established waste management and recycling centre in Devonport is seeking an experienced Yard Supervisor to join its operations team. The site provides essential services to the local community, including waste and recycling operations, a popular ReUse Store, landscape supply sales, and truck and trailer hire.
About the Role The Yard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the yard while supporting a range of environmentally focused activities.
Key responsibilities include: - Supervising site operations, including health and safety, weighbridge, recycling, reuse shop, and resource recovery functions - Leading and supporting site staff to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations - Providing high-quality customer service at the weighbridge and ReUse Store - Receiving donations and overseeing the sorting, organisation, and presentation of reusable goods for sale - Delivering materials to local customers as required - Ensuring equipment, site standards, and processes are maintained

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience as a Yard Supervisor or similar supervisory role - Proven people management and customer service experience - A sound understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) - A full Class 1 driver licence (Class 2 licence is an advantage) - Experience operating small diggers and loaders (preferred) - The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions - The ability to pass a drug test and Ministry of Justice check
