We are seeking reliable and customer-focused Urban Bus Driver's to join our team. This role is responsible for providing safe, efficient and friendly transport services to passengers while maintaining high standards of professionalism and safety. Key responsibilities include: • Operate a transit bus on scheduled routes in a safe, courteous and timely manner. • Pick up and drop off passengers at designated stops. • Assist passengers with special needs, including elderly or disabled individuals. • Monitor fare collection, ensure correct fare payment, and issue transfers when applicable. • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, especially in the case of delays, accidents, or emergencies. • Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle interior. • Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the maintenance team promptly. • Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies. • Complete daily vehicle inspection checklists and required logs. • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations. This is a vital role that ensures passengers reach their destinations safely while receiving a high standard of customer service.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have: • A Class 2 driver’s licence • A clean driving record and strong understanding of road safety regulations • Ability to pass pre-employment checks (checks include drug testing, Ministry of Justice checks, and reference checking) • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong customer service mindset with a friendly and approachable attitude • Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and composure • Good time management skills and reliability in adhering to schedules • Physical ability to assist passengers when required • Basic mechanical awareness to identify and report vehicle issues • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends Previous experience in public transport or a similar role is preferred but not essential.

Days of work
Minimum of 32 hours per week on a weekly rolling roster, 6 days per week, for a maximum of 70 hours per fortnight (32 hours per week)
