Casual Contact Supervisor
About this job
We are seeking reliable and compassionate Supervised Contact Supervisors to support children and families involved in Family Court and statutory processes.
This role is critical in ensuring children can maintain safe and meaningful connections with their parents. Supervisors facilitate and oversee contact visits in a neutral, child focused, and safety driven manner, while upholding Court directions and organisational standards.
Key Responsibilities • Facilitate and supervise contact visits between children and parents in community venues or private settings • Maintain a calm, respectful, and supportive environment for all parties • Observe interactions and complete accurate, objective written reports • Manage safety concerns, identify risks, and de escalate conflict when required • Prioritise children’s wellbeing and emotional safety at all times • Communicate professionally with caregivers, visiting parents, lawyers, and referring agencies • Maintain confidentiality and follow all organisational policies and Court requirements • Transport children to and from visits when required • Support children with structured activities and respond appropriately to emotional or unexpected situations • Work flexibly across varying days and times depending on family needs
You will be required to complete accurate written contact reports, maintain confidentiality, and communicate professionally with caregivers, visiting parents, lawyers, and referring agencies.
Job Requirements
Full NZ driver license and access to a reliable vehicle • Current Police Vetting (or willingness to obtain) • Relevant experience in social services, youth work, education, or care work, hospitality • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to remain calm, professional, and impartial in high stress situations • High level of reliability, discretion, and integrity • Understanding of child safeguarding and family violence dynamics (preferred) • Availability for weekend and school holiday work
