This childcare centre is seeking reliable and caring Relief Early Childhood Educators to support our teaching team on an on-call basis. This role involves providing high-quality care and education for children aged 3–6 years at Arohanui, and occasionally supporting younger children aged 3 months–3 years at our Harinui Centre.
As a relief educator, you will step into different classrooms as needed, helping to maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports children’s learning and development.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide care and supervision for children under 6 years of age - Support daily routines, including play, meals, and rest times - Assist with learning activities and encourage child development through play - Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment - Follow the guidance and direction of permanent teaching staff - Build respectful relationships with children, staff, and whanau - Adapt quickly to different age groups and centre environments
Job Requirements
- Must be 17 years of age or older - No formal qualification required (ECE experience is an advantage) - Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team - Comfortable working with children across different age groups - Reliable, flexible, and available on an on-call basis - Positive attitude and a genuine interest in working with children - Good communication skills
- Days of work
- Relief Teaching is on-call. Days and hours can change each time. It is dependent on the hours available. Monday - Friday. (25 hours per week)
