This Taupo based employer is a kaupapa Maori native nursery and restoration business dedicated to environmental restoration guided by maramataka and kaupapa Maori values. We are looking for a reliable and practical Contract Maintenance Technician who enjoys outdoor work and takes pride in keeping sites safe, tidy, and thriving.
Key Responsibilities • Deliver contracted maintenance across planting and restoration sites • Mow, weed-eat, clear vegetation, and remove rubbish • Repair and maintain irrigation systems • Safely operate and maintain equipment and vehicles • Carry out minor infrastructure repairs • Record site activity and assist with contract reporting • Support nursery production and assist Mara and nursery kaimahi during quieter periods

Job Requirements
Essential • Full, current driver licence • Strong understanding of health and safety practices • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Confidence using power tools and maintenance equipment • Good communication skills and basic digital literacy (phone apps, email) • Must have an updated CV highlighting relevant experience
Highly Regarded • Irrigation knowledge or experience with irrigation systems • Experience with compost or fertiliser application • Spray application experience (Growsafe certification advantageous) • Tractor or forklift operating experience • First Aid and/or Chainsaw certification
Physical Requirements • This is an active, outdoor role and includes working in winter conditions • Regular lifting of 10–12kg and occasional lifting of up to 25kg • Bending, kneeling, and carrying out manual horticultural tasks throughout the day

- Flexible working hours - Preference for hours to be spread across Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (20 hours per week)
