Are you looking to make a real difference in your community? We are currently looking for an empathetic and passionate Support Worker in Lower Hutt to join our team. We provide different services including Community & Rehabilitation, Disability and Social Services.
What does a Support Worker do? As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below: • Meal preparation • Community outings and integration • Giving medication • Personal cares (showering, toileting etc) • Home management • What's in it for you?

You will earn between $ 23.97 - 29.68 per hour, depending on experience and qualification.

What are we looking for? • Attitude - a desire to help and support others, achieving excellence in all you do! • Previous healthcare or care-giving experience is desirable, although not essential • Excellent communication skills • Healthcare qualifications are advantageous • Applicants must hold a full driver’s licence and have access to their own vehicle, as driving may be required during work to assist with some tasks, as well as for commuting to and from the workplace. You must possess the right to work in New Zealand and a willingness to undergo police vetting and additional checks in order to be considered for this position. Applicants must live within 10-15km of the area
Monday to Friday 3-5.30pm Three weekdays (excl Fri) 10-2pm (flexi on days)

Job Requirements
Essential: • An updated CV with at least 2 contactable referees • Applicants must hold a full driver’s licence and have access to their own vehicle, as driving may be required during work to assist with some tasks, as well as for commuting to and from the workplace. • Must live within 10-15km of the area • Can pass a police vetting check • High level of resilience, with an ability to cope with change and to be flexible • Sound communication and interpersonal skills • Computer literacy and ability to use Apps • Responsible, with a well-developed sense of judgement and personal integrity • Ability to work competently with challenging behaviours • Well organised, with the ability to problem solve effectively and respond effectively under pressure • Ability to maintain confidentiality • The ability to undertake the physical requirements of the position
