A well-established Tauranga-based employer is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Parts & Procurement Specialist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong procurement background who is looking to grow within the automotive industry — with full training provided for the right candidate.
About the Role In this position, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of automotive parts and accessories to ensure the smooth operation of workshop and service functions. You’ll play a key role in maintaining supplier relationships, optimising stock levels, and ensuring efficient procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities • Plan, manage, and control the procurement of automotive parts and accessories to support workshop and service operations • Ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining continuity of supply • Establish, manage, and review supplier relationships, including negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, and service levels • Analyse inventory usage, demand trends, and forecasting data to determine purchasing strategies • Maintain optimal stock levels through effective inventory management • Develop, implement, and monitor procurement systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure parts availability aligns with operational needs • Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply chain issues such as shortages, delays, and quality concerns
About You • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a procurement role • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills • Analytical mindset with experience in inventory planning and forecasting • Excellent organisational and communication skills • Ability to work collaboratively across departments • Full driver’s licence required
