Handyman/ Builder

This fixed-term 24 week role is responsible for developing and improving the physical infrastructure that supports a not for profit's expanding horticulture and social enterprise activities.

The Builder / Handyman will help construct, install, and maintain practical garden structures and outdoor working spaces. The role requires strong hands-on building skills and the ability to work in an inclusive environment alongside people with learning and intellectual disabilities. Some of the role responsibilities are: Constructing and installing raised garden beds; pathways, fencing, and growing structures, Building and maintaining outdoor workspaces, storage areas, and utility structures; Working alongside volunteers including people with learning and intellectual disabilities in garden development and growing activities.

Practical building, carpentry, or handyman experience. Experience constructing outdoor structures such as decks, beds, fencing, or similar. Ability to work independently and manage practical projects. Confidence using a range of hand and power tools. Experience working safely in outdoor environments. Ability to work respectfully with people of diverse abilities. Good physical fitness for manual work. Practical, hands-on, and solutions-focused. Patient, respectful, and supportive of inclusive participation. Current C.V show casing relevant skills. Must pass MOJ checks.
