Centre Cook

Location: Onehunga
As a centre cook you will prepare simple healthy and nutritious meals for 80 children each day. This will include prepared and baked goods for morning and afternoon tea, and hot meals for lunches as well as fresh fruit or vegetables at each meal.
You will also need to be aware and prepare suitable food for children that have specific allergy requirements and dietary preferences. The centre cook also cleans all crockery and dishes after each meal service and manages the adjacent laundry, supporting the teachers.
You will also be responsible for the cleaning, safety and hygiene practices of the kitchen and ensuring that all practices meet the NZ Food Standards requirements for NP2.
Job Requirements
Training and a qualification in relevant hygiene and safety practices required Experience cooking in a commercial kitchen or professionally for large groups necessary Interest in healthy eating and a passion for developing new and interesting menu's ideal. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
