Cleaning Team Leader

The leader is responsible for the Wellington–Hutt region, including conducting site visits with clients, carrying out quality assurance checks, and visiting staff during evening shifts. They must be flexible and able to step in at short notice to meet business needs.

The role also includes bio-cleaning duties, so experience or willingness to perform this work is required. A clean Ministry of Justice check is essential.

The position requires availability to work on a roster basis for bio-cleaning at a prison. If you get one of those shifts, you will get paid at $65 per hour and may include weekend work.

Working hours are 3:00pm to 11:30pm, including a 30-minute lunch break.

A vehicle, computer, and phone are provided as part of the role.

The role requires strong communication skills, including proficiency in email and Microsoft Word, as well as clear verbal communication. You will also be responsible for daily wage entry.

Experience Required Intermediate (2–4 years).

Applicants must be able to pass a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check with no prior convictions.

A full Class 1 driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle are required, as the short-notice nature of the role may demand flexibility.

You should be able to follow instructions from managers, work effectively as part of a team, and be willing to work occasional weekends when required for special projects.

The ability to lead a diverse team with varying skill levels and language backgrounds is essential.

Experience in carpet cleaning, strip and seal, and team coordination would be an advantage.
