A turf farm located just out of Palmerston North who are leaders in providing quality turf to landscapers, developers, builders and retail clients in the North Island and contracted supplier for sports stadiums require a Field Operators Co-ordinator. The primary focus of the operation is the turf farm as well as completing turf installation projects. You will be part of the day -to -day running of a small hardworking team and ensure tasks are safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Their turf is the priority so you will responsible for allocating work, managing resources and be hands on with turf harvesting, installation, mowing, irrigation and general farm duties, ensuring clients receive top quality product every time. This is a newly created role and is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their career. The role will: -Be ‘hands on’ with turf harvesting, installation, mowing, irrigation, leading our field team with daily operations. -Plan, schedule, and allocate jobs across multiple worksites -Monitor productivity, quality, and safety standards -Ensure all work complies with industry regulations and company policies -Maintain equipment and machinery -Work closely with the leadership team on strategy, staffing, and growth -Drive continuous improvement across processes and workflows
Job Requirements
The person the business is looking for will be well organised, proactive and confident dealing with people, with previous experience ideally in the turf industry or landscaping, farming or trades. This is an excellent opportunity to grows your people management skills while still being actively 'on the tools'. You will bring: -Previous experience ideally in the turf industry, or landscaping, farming or trades. -Technical Knowledge - Understanding of agronomy, soil science, irrigation systems, and safe application of pesticides/herbicides. -A strong commitment to Health & Safety -Great communication and leadership skills -Be physically fit and in good health -Strong planning, problem-solving, and time-management abilities -Mechanical aptitude -Full NZ driver licence -Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test Convictions considered on a case- by-case basis If this sounds like you, and you are keen to work with a great team in a fast-paced outdoor environment, please apply today.
