Sheep Farm Worker

Aranui is a 118ha Sheep Dairy farm based 25 minutes outside of Te Awamutu, Waikato. We peak milk 1550 ewes twice a day through a 42 aside herringbone shed with ACR’s, rapid exit system and in shed feed system. All ewes lamb outside, and lambs are collected for the rearing shed at 4 days old. Duties include but are not limited to, Milking ewes and identifying mastitis, Shed hygiene, Assisting with lambing ewes and identifying issues, Feeding out ewes and lambs, Stock movements and fences, Assisting with pasture measuring and allocation, Assisting with vaccinating, drenching, tagging etc, General farm maintenance, Collecting of lambs and helping in the rearing shed when required Total package value $65-75,000. Accommodation is in shared house provided rent to be paid fortnightly. No smoking or vaping in or around farm buildings. No pets.
Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years farming experience in either dairy or sheep farming, Good references, Communicate well with the rest of the team, Full drivers licence and be able to drive a 4 wheeler and tractor, Be reliable, honest and punctual , Be drug free drug tests will be carried out, Clean criminal history background checks will be carried out
- Days of work
- 8 days on 2 days off. 8 days on 3 days off. Hours will vary with the season and which roster week. Cups on 5.30am and 2.20pm (50 hours per week)
